Sophia Walker wins medals at the international Basel Cup.

Sophia Walker won 3 medals at the International Basel Cup in Basel on 29 May 2026

The 12-year-old swimmer shone in the breaststroke events and surprised with great new personal bests! In the 50 metre breaststroke she won the gold medal in 36.06 seconds, in the 100 metre breaststroke in 1:17.87 minutes. Followed by the silver medal in the 200 metre breaststroke in 2:49.09 minutes. In the freestyle races she achieved 5th place in the 50 metre in 29.78 seconds and 4th place in the 100 metre in 1:06.13 minutes. In the 200 metre freestyle and 200 metre individual medley she placed 6th.

The International Basel Cup attracted numerous young swimming talents from all over Switzerland and neighbouring countries to Basel on 29 May 2026. For Sophia Walker it was a successful first Basel Cup event and a super great time with her swimming team.
